Editing footer links and copyright

To edit the footer links in your Sharepoint theme (such as “Read our terms”), follow these steps:

  1. Edit the theme's masterpage _catalogs\masterpage\THEMENAME.master with SharePoint Designer
  2. Go to the bottom of the file and find corresponding HTML, namely divs #Copyright, #Privacy or #Terms
  3. Change as needed and save

Hi Beatriz - are we allowed to edit the master pages as I thought this invalidated the EULA? We would like to edit the links on the footer but was not sure how. Thanks. Paul.

Hi David, thanks for the info. Does this mean we are ok to edit the master page files if we are only using the one Theme for all our Intranet sites? Thanks. Paul.

    Hello Paul,

You can edit the Master Pages files, but our recommendation is to avoid that if it is possible. In this case, to edit this field it is necessary.
